Pain Relief Without Medications at Vance Medical
At Vance Medical, our goal is not to manage your pain indefinitely — it’s to eliminate it. We help patients overcome pain by addressing its root causes: repairing damaged tissue, calming overactive nerves, restoring circulation, and supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms. If you’ve been told to simply live with your pain, or that surgery is your only option, we respectfully disagree.
‘Just because you haven’t found a cure, doesn’t mean there isn’t one.’

The Pain Elimination Protocol (PEP)
Our signature approach to chronic pain is the Pain Elimination Protocol — a multi-modality treatment strategy that combines five powerful therapies to address pain from multiple angles simultaneously. Many patients experience significant, lasting relief even after years of unsuccessful conventional treatment.
Neural Reflex Therapy
Gentle hands-on therapy that uses nerve reflexes to calm pain and support healing. Very light touches are applied to trigger points and held for about 20 to 30 seconds. Many patients experience relief in each spot. Neuro-reflex therapy works through several mechanisms: relaxing muscles, stimulating acupuncture points, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and calming key nerve centers. Beyond physical pain, it’s also been effective for anxiety, PTSD, and emotional trauma. This treatment can also help with abdominal discomfort, radiating pain, and certain other nerve-related symptoms.
Prolozone Therapy
Prolozone is a non-surgical treatment designed to repair tendons, ligaments and joints — and in many cases, offer a permanent solution to chronic pain. It involves injecting a combination of anti-inflammatory compounds, vitamins, oxygen, and very low doses of ozone gas directly into soft tissues, ligaments, and tendons. This stimulates the healing of damaged connective tissue around the joints, addressing the structural root cause of chronic pain rather than simply masking it.
The oxygen and ozone increase circulation and nutrient delivery to the affected areas, prompting tissue to begin self-repair. With Prolozone Therapy, there is a 68% chance of achieving lasting pain relief — even in cases where pain has persisted for many years. Treatments are typically repeated every one to two weeks until optimal improvement is reached.
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) Therapy
PEMF therapy has been shown to improve circulation, reduce pain and inflammation, and accelerate healing at the cellular level. At Vance Medical, we use the ERT — a high-intensity PEMF system based on Nikola Tesla’s design — that produces a cleaner electromagnetic wave that resonates with the body for faster, more balanced cellular recovery. Improves circulation and oxygenation, reduces pain and inflammation, and supports healing. The system is customized to the patient’s comfort level.
Perineural Injection Technique
Involves tiny injections of low-dose dextrose just beneath the skin, targeting the nerve fibers responsible for transmitting pain. Rather than numbing the area, the dextrose calms the irritated nerves, stopping the pain at the source. Many patients report significant pain relief and improved range of motion in areas that have been stiff or restricted for years.”
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
A good option for pain with an autoimmune or inflammatory component. LDN works by modulating the immune system and reducing neuroinflammation, with a side-effect profile far more favorable than traditional pain medications.
Other Pain Protocols
The Abdominal Protocol
Using a combination of Neural Reflex Therapy (NRT) and Neural Therapy, our abdominal protocol usually offers remarkable near instant improvement with abdominal issues of most sorts. Whether it be constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bloating, gas, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), etc. Very often after a treatment the abdomen is soft and completely nontender, and whatever symptoms people are having are gone. Duration of improvement is variable, but can be improved by using various supplements.
The Breathing Protocol
The Breathing Protocol is an exclusive, multi-part treatment that can alleviate most lung and breathing disorders — including asthma, COPD, musculoskeletal chest pain, shortness of breath, and bronchitis — while also inducing a profound state of relaxation that helps significantly with stress, anxiety, and panic attacks.
The protocol consists of four procedures applied together:
Infraspinatus Respiratory Reflex
Targeted injections of procaine or lidocaine are placed into tender areas of the bilateral infraspinatus muscle (over the shoulder blades). This technique — originally discovered by Dr. Philibert — has shown significant benefit for patients with asthma and chronic breathing difficulty.
Neural Reflex Therapy (NRT)
A light-touch manual therapy that releases tender areas on the chest wall, immediately relaxing the muscles and typically producing significant whole-body relaxation.
Tickle Therapy
A light-touch application of local anesthetic around the chest wall that does not penetrate the skin. Painless and often mildly ticklish, this procedure contributes to the cumulative relaxation effect of the protocol.
Lung Boost
A targeted manual therapy that helps patients breathe more deeply and freely — often producing immediate, noticeable improvement in breathing capacity.
The full Breathing Protocol typically takes 45–60 minutes. Because the protocol requires access to the torso, a gown is provided for female patients and a female staff member is always present during the procedure.
The Breast Pain Protocol
Many women suffer from breast pain which can have a chronic component but is most often associated with the menstrual cycle. Most often the pain is just annoying but sometimes it can be quite debilitating, and can interfere with work, sports, or other activities. While there are many medications and supplements out there that can help with this, none keep working when you don’t take them.
Our exclusive breast pain protocol uses Neural Reflex Therapy (NRT) to turn off the pain in the breasts, and most of the time at the end of the treatment patient’s breast pain is gone, with marked relief in pain usually for the rest of that cycle, and continued improvement through subsequent cycles. For best results a few treatments are needed, preferably around the time of the cycle. Frequently, women will report a long term roughly 80% or more improvement in their recurrent breast pain.
Because the protocol requires access to the torso, a gown is provided for female patients and a female staff member is always present during the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Dr. Vance's approach different from conventional care
The Pain Elimination Protocol uses Neuro-Reflex Therapy, Prolozone Therapy, PEMF, and Perineural Injection Technique to repair damaged tissue and reset the nervous system — reducing, and in many cases eliminating, pain without long-term pharmaceutical dependence. We treat the cause, not just the sensation.
How many PEP treatments are typically needed?
The number of treatments depends on the nature and duration of the condition. Prolozone treatments are typically repeated every one to two weeks until optimal improvement is reached.
Most patients complete a course of five treatments as a starting point, and see significant improvement by that point.” Use “significant improvement,” not “optimal results” — optimal results implies fully resolved, which isn’t accurate for every patient.
Can PEP help with old injuries?
Yes. PEP is specifically designed for pain from injuries that never fully healed, including chronic joint pain, nerve damage, and related pain that’s persisted for months or even years.
